Nadacharya is an award instituted by Agni Cultural Academy to identify and reward the best teacher in classical music. The best teacher who creates professionals in the field of classical music will be chosen by Agni. The Nadacharya title was conferred upon three renowned personalities in the field of Classical Music, since the award was instituted, and they are:

Award Winners

Mridangam maestro Mavelikkara Velukkutty Nair (2011)
Prof. Mavelikkara K Velukkutty Nair is one of the legendry Mrudangam Maestro in Kerala. He had undergone preliminary lessons in Mridangam from father Mridanga Vidwan Muthukulam S. Kumara Pillai. Later undergone advanced training from Maestro Padmabhooshan Palghat Mani Iyer under Gurukula system for a period of 8 years.
Smt. Parassala Ponnammal (2010)
Smt. Prof. Parassala B Ponnammal served as the Principal of RLV College of Music at Thripunithura for a decade. Smt. Ponnammal has the rare honor of being the first woman to sing at the Navaratri Mandapam at Thiruvanathapuram during the Navaratri Music festival.

Violin Mastero Ragaratnam Nedumangad Sivanandan (2008)
He had taken his diploma Ganabhooshan from Sree Swathi Thirunnal Sangeetha College Trivandrum in the year 1954. Recognising his contributions in 2001 Kerala Sangeetha Nataka Academy honoured him with an Award.
